Escape to the Wilderness...

with food from the taco truck, beer, and your favorite dog. At least that's what we do when it's sunny warm but far too windy to hit the beach or mountain top. E has been extraordinarily busy as of late. July is usually a very nice weather month for the Oregon coast, and while we love that - a lot - so do the fishermen. And their being on the sea a bunch means E is as well. I love that he loves being a biologist on the boats, but I really hate to see him sailing away for days at a time.

Thankfully, though, we got a quick few days to revel in the sunlight that's been gracing the Astoria hills. We went to a "secret" glen that I discovered a few days ago in the woods near Coffenbury Lake. It was so sunny and warm we decided to stay all day and even got a few pictures in between eating and playing with Gypsy. These photos will also be the debut of E's newly shaved head. Unfortunately it means his sunscreen regime just got longer. I didn't think it was possible.
