Confession

It's becoming increasingly difficult not to talk about this since E and I discuss it almost daily. It seems it is time to share it with the virtual world at large. Next year we're planning a year long road trip across the county. It'll be dotted with a few months of work - E's planning coming back out to the Oregon Coast to observe the hake fishing season - in the summer but the rest of the year we will be traveling, on the road, ramblin', me, the ol' man, and, of course, the Gypsy. We plan to acquire a beat up old camper van to travel in. Not a fancy Westfalia of E's dreams - ha! - but more the likes of a '79 Chevy creepster van in which we'll install a bed, kitchenette of sorts, storage, and a dog bed.

While it seems, to some, to be some life-long dream of ours - well that's not quite it, at least I don't think. I mean, we love to travel, but it sort of just came about one day. We were getting a pint one afternoon this summer, and I just blurted out (seriously out of nowhere) "what if we didn't come back next year and instead bought a van and traveled the country?" And E, being that perfect man he is, said "I think that's your best idea yet!" And our trip was born. (Between you and I - this is how most of our adventures happen, completely at random.)

Whew! Now that that's out and about I'll be filling you in every now and then on the progression. It's still a little ways off as of yet - we're planning on going back to Georgia for the holidays, acquiring the van sometime in January and setting off after that - but as things come up I'll keep you posted. As to what we'll be doing after this adventure? Your guess is as good as ours.

P.S. If you'd like to see some of the places we'll be hittin' up check out our "Wherever we go..." board on pinterest.

That is awesome! I've wanted to do something like that for a while. Way to take hold and grab the opportunity and just go with it!
